Plant Department
Plant Protection department started its independent and special activity with separation from cultural sciences department and admission of B. Sc students in 1984. First group of M. Sc students were admitted in Agricultural Entomology in 1991. Some years later, M. Sc degree of Plant Pathology was launched. Moreover, Ph. D degree of Agricultural Entomology was established in 2004. A considerable number of students are educated in and graduated from department in different degrees each year. At the moment, there are ten academic staff in the department including one professor, six associate professors and three assistant professors. They teach and research on different aspects of plant protection including insect ecology, biological control and management of insect pests and plant diseases, insect and mite systematics, chemical pesticides, plant mycology, virology and nematology. |
