International Campus of Urmia University was established as a subset of this prestigious university in 2012 on the Daneshkadeh site of the university in Urmia City. This campus is managed within the framework of the organization of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and based on the approval of the Board of Trustees of Urmia University and based on the provisions of the Urmia University statute and related rules and regulations.
Based on its statute, International Campus of Urmia University has put important goals at the top of its programs. The most important goals of this campus are: training the specialized human resources needed by the country according to international standards, expanding the capacities of Urmia University for internationalization, entering the field of international competition to provide educational and research services with a focus on neighboring countries by attracting international students and improving the scientific indicators of the university and developing the frontiers of knowledge.
Currently, about 1,700 international students are studying in International Campus of Urmia University in the fields of technical and engineering, social and behavioral sciences, basic sciences, arts, and humanities at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs which are based on the capacity of knowledgeable professors of Urmia University and use the state-of-the-art educational and welfare facilities of the campus.
