Knowledge mining projects at all stages of mineral exploration and evaluation of mineral resources, planning and development of mining, processing, safe storage of the waste materials (mining) is used during and after mining. Provides current and future needs of the mining industry. Mining Engineering graduate this group in the fields of mining in October 1385 (October 2008) has started to work. As well as graduate mining exploration trend in October 1388 was launched. Undergraduate students must have 142 credits, including 3 of the project, 21 public units, 32 units of engineering sciences such as mathematics, physics, statics, dynamics, chemistry and geology, mining and multi-unit and 78-unit courses take the field. Undergraduate students also need two summer internships each spend 240 hours of practical work in the mines. 32 graduate students and dissertation course consists of 6 units spend 2 single seminar. Currently, the Department of Mining Engineering 150 undergraduate students and 12 graduate students there. Now the Department of Mining Engineering, University of Urmia has seven full-time faculty in different specialties rock mechanics, mining, economic geology and applied geology. This group has research laboratories and educational rock mechanics, mineral processing, mineralogy, petrology, cartography and computer center is. Since the establishment of the Department of Mining Engineering has more than 150 mining engineer who graduated about 60 of them have been adopted in the exams, graduate with good grades. Some graduates enter the job market, especially in the private sector are the same group.
