  Tuition Fees

 

As for tuition fees, Urmia University offers quality higher education programs at very competitive and reasonable rates compared to other Iranian universities and those in the neighboring countries. Please find the updated tuition fees as well as terms of payment and tuition policies in the following table:

* All tuition figures are in US dollars

** Full tuition is received for 4 semesters of a master's degree, 6 semesters of a research-oriented doctoral degree, and 8 semesters of a teaching-research doctorate.

*** Half of the semester tuition is charged for the semesters of extension beyond those mentioned above.

 

 

 Tuition Discounts

Below you can learn about four ways to get a tuition discount at Urmia University as an international student:

 

1- 25 to 50 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of international students who have cooperated with their professor as a teaching or research assistant (for the first two semesters) based on the level and number of students per group.

2- A 30 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of Master's international students who get a minimum GPA of 17 for disciplines other than humanities and 18 for humanities disciplines. (This discount is available for only one student in each entrance year of the program)

3- A 20 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of the first semester of Master's international students who pursue a doctorate program at Urmia University.

4- A 20 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of the first semester of international students with a family member (brother, sister, child, parent, and spouse) at Urmia University.

 

 

Scholarships

Urmia University offers the following scholarships to its undergraduate and graduate international students who have an outstanding educational background and meet the age and GPA requirements. The Registrar’s Office will determine who is eligible for each scholarship based on the specific criteria.

1- Age Requirements: Maximum 24 years for undergraduate and D.V.M programs, Maximum 26 years for Master's programs, and maximum 32 years for PhD programs

1- GPA Requirements: Minimum GPA of 15 (out of 20) in high school diploma for undergraduate applicants, Minimum GPA of 16 (out of 20) in undergraduate degree for master's applicants, Minimum GPA of 16 (out of 20) in master's degree for PhD applicants.

 

  
Note 1: International master's degree graduates, who manage to publish an ISI article extracted from their thesis in the Q1 or Q2 journals, are exempted from the aforementioned age and GPA conditions.
 
Note 2: In special conditions, applicants' documents are evaluated by the International Campus of Urmia University Council and International Relations office and a decision is made regarding the granting of the scholarship.
 
Note 3: Decisions about the vacancies and programs for scholarship will be made by the International Campus of Urmia University Council and International Relations office at different times every year and will be posted on the university website.
 
Note 4: Applicants' scholarship requests are submitted to the International Campus of Urmia University Council and International Relations office, and if approved, the applicant will be officially notified.
 
Note 5: International students of Urmia University who have been granted a scholarship are not allowed to use the scholarship of other Iranian universities at the same time.
 
Note 6: International students of Urmia University who have been granted a scholarship, in addition to free education, will benefit from health care insurance and dormitory accommodation.
 
Note 7: International students of Urmia University who have been granted a scholarship, will not be eligible for study stipends, ticket fees, and travel allowances.
 
Note 8: The maximum period of using the scholarship is 4 years for the undergraduate degree, 2 years for the master's degree, 7 years for the D.V.M programs, 4 years for the PhD-by-research, and 3 years for the PhD-by-Course. If not graduated within this period, students must pay the tuition fee for the remaining period of their study.
 
Note 9: Granting the scholarship of Urmia University is contingent on meeting the required conditions, and if it is determined that the student is ineligible after the evaluation of each semester (e.g. low scores, the supervisor's lack of satisfaction with the student's educational and research activities), the granted scholarship will be canceled.
