Increasing the bilateral relations and collaborations between Urmia University and top-ranked universities of Turkey

 

 

 

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alijanpour, chancellor of Urmia University, and a delegation of university officials visited Turkey to expand cooperations with Turkish universities and materialize centrality of Urmia University through science, technology and innovation diplomacy which is one the five prioritized policies of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran.

Four Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) were signed with the prestigious universities of GAZI, HACETTEPE, ANKARA, and HACI BAYRAM VELI with the intention of increasing bilateral cooperation through exchange of professors and students, holding joint scientific conferences, and organizing cultural and sports events by the implementation of these MOUs.

Bilateral meetings with rectors of VAN, BILKENT, and METU Universities and director of VAN Technopark were also organized as a part of this trip to accentuate scientific research cooperation and joint university activities, and it was agreed to sign MOUs between these universities and Urmia University in the near future.

The booth of Urmia University at the AGRI FEST 2024 exhibition of Ankara University, Turkey was also inaugurated during this trip. This exhibition was the first international agricultural technology exhibition that was held at Ankara University with the participation of more than 100 companies, industries, startups and universities from Turkey and other countries on May 24-26. Dr. Alijanpour met and talked with the Minister of Agriculture of Turkey on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of this exhibition.

This trip was finalized with a meeting with Dr. Mohammad Hassan Habibollah Zadeh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkey.
