Meeting between the Chancellor of Urmia University and the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Urmia

To expand scientific diplomacy between the two nations, a meeting was held between the Chancellor of Urmia University, Prof. Ahmad Alijanpour, and the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Urmia, Mr. Adil Cüneyit Akbal.

Prof. Alijanpour delivered a report on the scientific and research capabilities and potentials of Urmia University at this meeting and referring to the ongoing joint activities of Urmia University with universities in Turkey stated that during the past three years, Urmia University has significantly emphasized scientific collaborations with Turkish universities and has established a scientific cooperation desk with Turkey which has led to signing 19 Memorandums of Understanding in the past three years and also 31 scientific webinars as well as several scientific conferences held jointly with Turkish universities.

Mr. Adil Cüneyt Akbal, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Urmia, also expressed his happiness at the joint interactions and activities of Urmia University with Turkish universities at this meeting stating that the more these meetings and interactions increase, the more universities in both countries will get to know each other and carry out more joint activities, and this will be effective in increasing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In the continuation of this meeting, both sides emphasized increasing interactions and scientific diplomacy by reviewing and proposing various solutions and programs.
