Outgoing Chancellor Expresses Gratitude and Hopes for Urmia University

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alijanpour, the outgoing chancellor of Urmia University, reflected on his tenure in a farewell message, emphasizing collaboration and achievement. Praising the dedication of faculty, staff, and students, he called his time at the university “a lasting legacy and a source of pride.”

Dr. Alijanpour highlighted key accomplishments during his chancellorship, including the expansion of research, educational, cultural, and technological infrastructure, improved national and international academic rankings, and significant growth in public funding, dedicated revenues, and industry partnerships. He credited these successes to the “unwavering efforts of esteemed faculty, hardworking staff, talented students, and the university’s leadership team.”

Acknowledging potential shortcomings, he stated, “I seek your pardon for any missteps and commend the relentless day-and-night efforts of all colleagues.” He added that his focus had been on fostering a peaceful environment, upholding regulations, and addressing welfare needs for staff, while also benefiting from the “guidance and goodwill” of the university community.

Concluding his message, Prof. Alijanpour wished his successor, Prof. Mahmoud Rezazad Bari, “health and success” and expressed hope for “days filled with optimism and vitality” for Urmia University. He signed off with “renewed respect” for all members of Urmia University.
