The Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism & Art began its activities in 2002 by admitting 25 students in the field of Urban Planning which was within the Faculty of Engineering. In 2004 with the approval of honorable authorities and former minister of Housing and Urban Development, Hedayat School Building which is of historical significance was awarded to Urmia University in order to establish the faculty. This Faculty was established in this historical building and started running two undergraduate programs, namely Architecture and Urban Planning.

Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture is the oldest faculty of Urmia University. This faculty is the first institute of higher education in West Azerbaijan province, which was established in 1965 under the supervision of Karaj Agriculture Faculty, University of Tehran. Headed by Eng. Sheibani, the faculty firstly admitted 40 associate degree students in an educational premise of 15 hectares. Students could continue their studies to receive a bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Agriculture in Karaj.

In 1381, officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran with regard to the objectives and scientific and cultural needs of the region in the fields of education, research and executive scholars and experts to create the field of Islamic jurisprudence that the decision of the year 1384 paid off and the entries of the field entered university in October 1384.

In the Islamic tradition, the importance and necessity of explaining to the original principles of Islam and introduce people to the true teachings and sustainable cultural change in society is clear and obvious.
